Taiwan Smart Agriweek 2019

Joins hands with Taiwan’s agricultural industry to build the top procurement platform in the Asia-Pacific region.

With the global population estimated to swell to 9 billion people by 2050, the world is sure to encounter food shortage problem. Many countries have actively developed high-efficiency intensive agriculture, adverse circumstance-resistant high-quality crop varieties, innovative technologies, and smart agricultural facilities to cope with the expected food crisis and extreme climate. To reflect the changes, organisers of the Taiwan Agriculture Week have decided to introduce new concepts to this year’s event and changed its title to Taiwan Smart Agriweek.

In the word “SMART,” “S” stands for sustainability or the sustainable use of agricultural resources, and “M” means marketing with diversified channels. “A” denotes artificial intelligence, which is to use AI technology to develop precision agriculture. “R” stands for recycling with the concept of green agriculture and friendly environment, and “T” represents traceability to keep track of the quality products and ensure food safety.

Therefore, those on display in this year’s show with smart agriculture as the major theme includes smart agricultural facilities and solutions, environment-friendly agricultural materials, innovative boutique agriculture for export trade, boutique flowers for export sales, exquisite Taiwanese fruit and vegetable brands, smart logistics, preservation, and cold chain services. They represent not only the complete supply chain of

Taiwan’s smart agriculture industry but also its latest developments. More importantly, the show provides a platform for exchanges among participants, thereby bringing the agricultural industry to the next generation. Taiwan Smart Agriweek is expected to attract nearly 1,000 international buyers to the exhibition. Among them, 150 heavyweight international buyers will apply for the Bureau of Foreign Trade’s subsidy for international buyers. The pre-show online matchmaking app can also accurately match and arrange for one-on-one procurement meetings for buyers and exhibitors, creating an excellent procurement platform for the agricultural industry in Taiwan. The International Smart Agriculture Symposium, the New Product Presentations, and the Cold Chain Seminar will also be held during the exhibition. Heavyweight representatives of the industry, government, and research institutes have been invited to these activities. The hottest topic, the supply chain from farmland to table, will be presented as Taiwan Smart Agriweek wishes to provide the latest industry trends to visitors without delay. To help the invited international buyers understand the overview of Taiwan’s high-end technology for the flower industry in one visit, this year’s Explore 2019 Taiwan Orchid Gallery will be set up to present Taiwan’s agricultural innovation soft skills, allowing the industry to see the future development and market trends.

Taiwan Smart Agriweek and Taiwan International Fisheries and Seafood Show will be held at the same time. The two exhibitions are expected to draw 700 booths and over 12,000 professionals from more than 50 countries.
